    Carolyn Howell Shelter
    Carolyn is currently National Homelessness Advice Service Coordinator for Shelter and manager of Shelter Homeowner and Mortgage Rescue Advice Service. Carolyn is responsible for the overall delivery of both national services. She has been with Shelter for 11 years in a variety of roles, as a caseworker, service manager and regional development manager, taking her current role in 2006. During 2008 to Spring 2010 Carolyn was seconded to the Department for Communities and Local Government working on the delivery team for MRS and HMS.
    Paul Howarth Head of Housing Benefit Strategy Division - Department for Work & Pensions
    Paul is responsible for agreeing with Ministers overall strategy for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit and Income Support for Mortgage Interest (ISMI). For Housing Benefit, this includes developing proposals for reforming the structure of the scheme, designing and implementing changes, running a number of IT projects and managing partnership working with DWP agencies.
    Paul also leads on consultation, communications and managing the work programme.
    Craig Genes Head of Customer-Centric Services at Arvato Government Services
    arvato is one of the leading partners of local authorities in delivering more for less. In the context of significant budget cuts and increasing scrutiny from citizens, the public sector remains focused on making efficiencies and increasing accountability while remaining customer-centric. To deal with the challenges posed by the Comprehensive Spending Review and changes in legislation, public sector bodies are redesigning services, adopting new ways of working and making smarter use of ICT. Craig Genes has worked with many authorities in meeting these challenges.
    Alison Blount Chief Revenues & Benefits Manager, Stockport Council
    Alison Blount is the Head of Revenues at Stockport Council. The Council is rated four-star and recently radically reviewed the way it handled and processed benefit applications and IT infrastructure. Annual savings of £270,000 were achieved and benefit processing times cut from 86 to 21 days. In addition the Council achieved a reduction in staff turnover and sickness levels. Alison said “As a top-rated four-star department, we must continue to develop innovative ways of delivering high levels of service to our customers”

As a member of SOCITM, consultant on past DWP, DCLG and Cabinet Office projects, and Technical Design Authority on Scotland's 2011 Census, Damian has a wealth of experience in successful delivery of automation projects which are designed to increase efficiency and lower costs.
    Darren Walklate Walklates
    Darren has extensive management and consulting experience with diverse clients and high value projects. Particular strengths include working with Local Authority Revenues and Benefits services to quickly achieve savings through shared services or business transformation. Darren is the founding Director of Walklates and is seeking to build a business based on many years experience and a long list of satisfied clients.
